Koo Kumi a.k.a Kumi William Du Bois Yaw Sakyi is a Ghanaian poet born on 5th May 1994 in the Eastern part of Ghana. He was attracted to the beauty of poetry and all its aspects at a very tender age. He started with poetry recitals in kindergarten, and then started writing his own poems in the junior high school. His style of writing is based on traditions from the African society. His style is influenced by his place of living. He fuses local languages in his writings so that non-English (Twi) readers and listeners will understand him. Known as Koo Kumi when it comes to performing poetry on stage (Spoken Word). He takes inspiration from the environment. All the natural and artificial things around him inspire him to write his best. He is currently the founder of a poetry movement called TYBA (The Young Bards Of Africa). His love for kids has grown deep enough for him to volunteer as a teacher in a child development center.
